Faculty Development
Many engineering schools are looking at ways to not only better retain their students, but also how to teach them more effectively. Since many engineering professors have no formal education in teaching effectiveness, many SUCCEED schools and experts are researching and employing ways to teach engineering faculty how to be better instructors. Such concepts as active learning, collaboration, learning and teaching styles, course planning, effective lecturing, assessment and evaluation of learning and teaching, and techniques for dealing with a variety of problematic situations are addressed.
