with the 2009 Structures Congress aims to bring together an international gathering of
practitioners, researchers, and building authorities to discuss and debate developments
in disproportionate collapse evaluation of buildings. Following a wide variety of state-ofthe-
art presentations on developments in future code provisions and current practice,
this panel discussion session is intended to be the capstone of the Symposium. A
variety of leading practitioners and researchers will debate the direction of design for
Disproportionate Collapse in the context of both American and European practice, with
an aim for an emergence of a harmonization of future efforts.
